The TLI31616 Certificate III in Warehousing Operations is tailored to provide a strong foundation for those seeking a career in the fast-paced and challenging warehouse and storage sector.

 

The transport, postal and warehousing sector is a vital part of the Australian economy and is an essential part of everyday living. Working within this industry allows you to apply a variety of skills across a range of career pathways. This sector encompasses various job prospects, such as becoming a warehouse operator, postal and courier deliverer, and freight handler.

 

This sector is projected to grow by 4.3 percent by May 2023. Employment growth within this industry is fuelled by the shift to online shopping and distribution, which reflects Australian consumer habits and shopping preferences.

 

Upon completion of this qualification, you will be equipped with the knowledge and skillset to bolster this essential sector of the Australian workforce, while also being able to work across various areas and help others with behind the scenes work that will be worthwhile.

 

With this qualification you will learn the fundamental and essential skills in areas which may include how to calculate mass, area and dimensions, work in a team, organise and document despatch and receival operations and control, order, receive and store stock correctly.

 

This nationally accredited qualification provides the foundations required to upskill and pursue further course studies in the warehousing and logistics industry or go on to university.

 

This course is superseded. Current students will be contacted prior to transitioning to the new training model when available.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Successful completion of this qualification may lead to employment as a:

  • Warehouse Operator
    Manage the supply chain process, monitor all shipping, receiving and inventory operations and ensure safety regulations are implemented within an organisation.
  • Freight Handler
    Supervise and manage the movement and storage of all incoming and outgoing consignments to ensure all freight is moved safely, tracked and records maintained.
  • Postal Worker
    Perform a wide range of duties for a post organisation, such as assisting with receiving and sorting inward mail, completing delivery rounds and managing the operation of mail conveyances and internal mail handling equipment.

STUDY MODE

The study mode available is a traineeship.

COURSE DURATION

Traineeship: A full time course runs for 12 months. A part time course runs for 24 months.

LOCATION

Practical workplace placement at one of our partnering employer locations, with continuous guidance and support from The Learning Collaborative trainers and assessors.

 

This course is also delivered by approved Third Parties, who are conveniently located throughout south-east Queensland. It is the responsibility of the approved Third Parties to recruit, enrol, support, train and assess students undertaking this course. The Learning Collaborative, in consultation with the approved Third Parties, is responsible for support and certification of all students enrolled in this course.

  • HLTINFCOV001 Comply with infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
  • TLIA3004 Process receipt and delivery of containers and cargo.
  • TLIA3015 Complete receival/despatch documentation.
  • TLIA3016 Use inventory systems to organise stock control.
  • TLIA3018 Organise despatch operations.
  • TLIA3019 Organise receival operations.
  • TLIA3024 Organise warehouse records operations.
  • TLIA3026 Monitor storage facilities.
  • TLIA3038 Control and order stock.
  • TLIA3039 Receive and store stock.
  • TLILIC0003 Licence to operate a forklift truck.
  • TLID1001 Shift materials safely using manual handling methods.
  • TLID2010 Operate a forklift.
  • TLIE3004 Prepare workplace documents.
  • TLIF3003 Implement and monitor work health and safety procedures.
  • TLIF3022 Implement/monitor procedures when warehousing/storing dangerous goods/hazardous substances.
  • TLIG3002 Lead a work team or group.
  • TLIJ3002 Apply quality systems.
  • TLIU2012 Participate in environmentally sustainable work practices.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no entry requirements for this qualification. However, students may be required to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment to determine any learner support requirements.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING

If students hold prior relevant work experience or formal qualifications issued by other Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), these may count as credit towards specific units. Please contact us for more information regarding eligibility or applications for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
