This unit covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also teaches participants how to correctly select and fit common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.
This unit of competency is commonly referred to as a White Card, and upon successful completion The Learning Collaborative will issue you with the White Card induction card.
This White Card CITC (Construction Induction Training Card) is accepted in every state.
All states and territories have agreed to implement the National Code of Practice for Induction for Construction Work, which has been declared by Safe Work Australia.
The result is a nationally consistent approach to construction induction training given to workers across Australia. It also means that White Cards/CITCs from any Australian state or territory are recognised nationally.
