Taking this career path will provide many opportunities for personal and career growth in the years to come, as the Australian business workforce is slated to grow steadily throughout the coming years. Beginning in an entry-level position ensures you will get your foot in the door and develop your skillset as the business flourishes.

 

The financial and insurance services area of the Australian business workforce is projected to grow by 3.2 percent as of May 2023. These services include receptionist, office assistant and accounting clerks. They are all positions that allow for entry-level candidates and give you room to grow on a personal and career level.

 

This qualification will enable you to work within the business and administrative sectors, which can be then expanded into other industries that require administrative support. Upon completion of this qualification, you will be well-equipped with the knowledge on the behind-the-scenes of running a successful business.

 

Within this qualification you will learn how to organise schedules and prepare presentations, improve your type speed and accuracy, support others and work as a team, create and use spreadsheets and business documents, offer high quality customer service and understand the fundamentals of contributing to the health and safety of others.

 

This nationally accredited qualification provides the foundations required to upskill and pursue further course studies in the business and administrative industry or go on to university.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Successful completion of this qualification may lead to employment as a:

  • Junior Personal Assistant
    Support senior staff or managers by assisting them with their daily administrative tasks, such as planning and organising schedules, appointments and travel arrangements, monitoring their email and drafting communications on their behalf.
  • Accounts Clerk
    Perform a variety of general billing and accounting duties for an organisation, in which tasks could involve preparing and maintaining financial records, reconciling bank statements and preparing reports.
  • Office Assistant
    Assist with the administrative and routine clerical tasks within an organisation, in which responsibilities may include taking meeting notes, managing and filing correspondence, preparing payrolls and answering phones.
  • Receptionist
    Deliver exceptional customer service assistance and perform a variety of administrative support tasks including answering phones, greeting visitors, managing inquires and ordering office supplies.

LOCATION

These services are delivered on behalf of The Learning Collaborative by approved Third Parties. Our Third Parties are conveniently located throughout south-east Queensland.

 

It is the responsibility of the approved Third Parties to recruit, enrol, support, train and assess students undertaking this course. The Learning Collaborative, in consultation with the approved Third Parties, is responsible for support and certification of all students enrolled in this course.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no entry requirements for this qualification. However, students may be required to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment to determine any learner support requirements.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING

If students hold prior relevant work experience or formal qualifications issued by other Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), these may count as credit towards specific units. Please contact us for more information regarding eligibility or applications for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
