This sector is projected to increase in employment by 10 percent as of May 2023. This steady growth ensures that there are plenty of job opportunities available for those who wish to pursue an exciting and worthwhile career in this essential sector.


Upon completion of this qualification, you will be equipped with the mandatory and basic knowledge to work within his thriving and growing industry. You will be well-versed in construction and landscaping knowledge to improve the lives of modern Australians.


With this entry-level qualification, you will develop the knowledge and skills required to implement retaining walls or paving projects, install drainage systems, cost a project, provide plant and soil information and construct stone, brick or concrete structures.


This nationally accredited qualification provides the foundations required to upskill and pursue further course studies in the landscaping industry or go on to university.

Successful completion of this qualification may lead to employment as a:

  • Landscape Gardener
    Create, build and maintain gardens, park and other outdoor landscapes in residential, commercial and large public settings.
  • Greenskeeper
    Be responsible for the care and upkeep of fine turf, grassed areas and synthetic surfaces used for sport facilities or golf courses.


These services are delivered on behalf of The Learning Collaborative by approved Third Parties. Our Third Parties are conveniently located throughout south-east Queensland.


It is the responsibility of the approved Third Parties to recruit, enrol, support, train and assess students undertaking this course. The Learning Collaborative, in consultation with the approved Third Parties, is responsible for support and certification of all students enrolled in this course.

This qualification contains 15 units. These units are made up of 11 core units plus 4 elective units, which may be taken from the elective units listed in the training package. Elective units will be tailored to suit the student’s chosen industry. View training package.


There are no entry requirements for this qualification. However, students may be required to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment to determine any learner support requirements.

If students hold prior relevant work experience or formal qualifications issued by other Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), these may count as credit towards specific units.
